Bio
Photography entered Anton's (b. 1991) life in 2006 when he was 15, and became his sole passion. He immersed himself in countless hours within darkrooms and university studios, and wandered through the myriad theaters and museums of Moscow. In 2010, confronted with the reality that photography alone couldn't sustain him financially, he embraced the modern world through a career in marketing and analytics—a journey that led him from London to his current home in Melbourne, Australia.
In 2020, during the exhaustive COVID lockdowns, Anton's passion for art was reignited as he rediscovered long-suppressed emotions. This period of isolation brought him to the realization that, for him, art is essential for understanding and communicating with the world around and within himself.
Guided by intuition and rigorous self-reflection, Anton's work delves into the facets of human emotion, exploring themes of isolation and the profound influence of societal systems on individuals. He examines how structures around us shape our inner lives, often casting shadows over personal experiences. By choosing photographic film and Polaroid as his mediums, Anton captures tangible proofs of reality that underscore the complexities he explores.
